Australia

We saw Australia night. Have to say, I loved it. Such a beautiful film to look at. I bet Catherine Martin wins best set design or costumes or something at the Oscars. Script was a bit cheesy, but with a movie that long, and a Baz Lurhman one, I guess you expect it a little. See it if you haven't. I also so love the poster for the movie. A variation on the above. Must speak to Meggie or Simon to see if they can access one for me.

i loved it too and so did matt. i thought it was beautiful and quirky and funny and gorgeous. yes storyline was a bit weak at times but overall great and she did not look over botoxed to me at all. people are so cruel. i am really surprised it is doing so badly - read yesterday it is going to finish at cinemas in a couple of weeks due to poor takings.

you couldnt even find it in NY. literally at about 3 cinemas and tiny tiny ones. how funny was the 'jumping jumping' scene in the beginning??
i did think she looked a bit wooden and botoxed but it sort of worked with her character so not as painful as expected.

I still have not got round to seeing it and am disappointed as well that it did not do any better. I would have thought it would have done well is US because of the scenery etc. Not a fan at all of Nicole but think Hugh is great. Will have to check and see if it is still showing at Chermside and go and see it. Was supposed to go with Mary but she has already seen it with some friend.I think Jo wants to see it. Will make an effort now. Mummy
