Finger Limes

I've never seen such a thing but mighty cool looking. Apparently Australian. Anyone seen them or even heard of them before? A type of citrus. Info here.

I wish passionfruits were more easily available here. How I love them so. Someone have one for me please.

Mum's passionfruit vine is blooming -- heaving with fruit! And it seems I have a passionfruit vine growing outside my vege patch `cage'. Didn't plant it, but it's just come up -- as have two mulberry plants! Also doing well in The Cage is some tomato plants, ant I have a capsicum as big as a fist! So rewarding. I must plant some coriander, too. It's just great being able to pop down into the jungle and fetch some herbs, or rocket (which i love) or whatever.

Over the weekend, we emptied Paul's home office in preparation for Chooka Mooka's nursery -- so that was a job well done, indeed.
We've put the mac in the nook in the kitchen where the microwave used to be -- and all the books and stationery that were in the office have found homes elsewhere throughout the house. So good to throw out lots of crap... even did the playroom since I was in the mood. Noosa is a grand incentive to get all this done now! xxx

hallo and happy new year
i saw these finger limes at the garden center on the weekend as we have started doing the back garden - must send some pics as its looking gorgeous already -such a transformation. matt and dad built me 3x big planter boxes and a bench seat (akin to the one at koskela) and 2x boxes for our vege patch and we are doing a pergola with 2x passionfruit vines over it in the next week or so. LOVE it. I bought a lemonade and a lemon tree and we have herbs growing on the window sills of the kitchen, the kitchen island bench and a new light hanging over it - looks almost done now! been great having mum and dad down - they go tomorrow boo hoo. louis is 4 today!

still have microwave, it's in a different nook in the `pantry'.

And, no, I haven't seen those lime finger things yet.

I am a proud Mummy today because Penelope wrote her name all by herself, unprompted. Ie, I didn't even need to spell it out for her, she just came over to me and showed me that she had written it.
And she hasn't even started kindy yet!

Caro, happy birthday to your Big Boy! Wow, can't believe he is 4 already!
We also have citrus trees (one each of lemon, lime, orange and mandarin) and I've been told that you should pluck off any fruit before it matures -- in the first 2 yrs - to allow a strong root system to establish, Maybe you already knew that... We only planted ours about 2 months ago and I was all excited to see some fruit budding already... but alas, it must go.

xx

Yep Nat you came to early - had you come in say a month, you could have had your fill of beautiful passionfruits. They are growing all over the palms and so plump already - pity they take so long to ripen - and to think it grew all on its own. They are so expensive in the shops - absolutely crazy

PS - for all you critics - yep noticed I spelt "too" "to" in the first line ("to early"). Really should edit before I publish. Oh how lazy we get with auto spell check in Word
