I was reading thekitchn.com earlier - one of apartment therapy blogs that i check almost daily. It's such a great site and always has amazing stories, products, recipes and stuff I just want. This here Soda machine feels so 80's but I want it. I love sparkling water and used to get cases of pellegrino until Nick reminded me that it's been shipped in from Italy so is super bad for the environment given it's just cheap water that I quickly go through. But how I miss the bubbles so. What do you think of this? It's an at home soda machine so I could have all the bubbles I want. I hate drinking water, and know I need to, so maybe I should do it. The machine is $65 after a $35 discount available on thekitchn.com. should I do it?

Yes - do it! I am with you, I love San Pellegrino but always feel a bit guilty - not only b/c of the carbon footprint but also because I feel like it may have a lot of sodium. And now someone just told me that carbonated water is bad for your teeth just like pop (soda if you are from the East coast). Definitely let me know how it works out!
Still on the fence. Nick pointed out it may not taste like Pellegrino. I don't believe the bad-for-teeth thing, i've heard it too, but what's bad bubbles?
How was your trip!!
Sister says don't do it. Carbonated water isn't good for your digestive system -- those bubbles are gassy and will make you gassy -- and bloated...
Still water is best. If you don't like taste, add a dash of lemon/mint/strawberry etc. Or drink cold green tea -- mine's always cold by the time I get to it!
And water at room temperature, as opposed to cold, is kinder on your digestive system, too.
