Chicken Mushroom and Bacon Pie

Nothing really special about this one except it only takes 30 minutes from start to finish. I love a good pie, and puff pastry is yummy. From Nigella Express.

Guys, I made this last night. Delish. Although i couldnt get the puff pastry to rise. Not sure why. I did an egg wash on it. perhaps i shouldnt have. also, let the chicken cook on stove top for about 40 minutes. Added a glass of wine instead of masala. Looked watery but cooked down quite quickly. Definitely recommend it.

I've never made a pie before. The girls would probably love it, esp Pen, who recently said about meals: 'I'm sick of everything'. Is puff-pastry not too unhealthy?

Aren't you good to share your ideas with us, sis. I don't have too much time to look for new foody ideas, so I really appreciate your ideas. Like the muesli, for instance. Made another batch to take on hols. We will miss you and Nick so much at Caloundra. Won't be checking out the site while I'm away but will still e-mail.

Can I keep crapping on? I went shopping this week and bough some 3/4 length black leggings and a fitted black shirt dress to wear with. Want to wear lots of leggings and dresses this winter, instead of just jeans. What's your view of long cardigans (so last-season for you, I know!) I bought one, a cream one, but Paul said I looked chavvy. Will it date too quickly? Maybe I should take it back?...

look forward to your reply xx

Sissy.
I too am a fan of the long cardigan. great with jeans and equally great over a short dress (i prefer it if the dress in the length of the cardi or shorter. not longer. you will look lovely with your 3/4 length leggings. they will look nice with your high boots too.
i've just been juicing. made a grapefruit/orange juice and a spinach/carrot/ginger juice. yum bit of sore head from a nite of boozing so that should help.
re puff pastry , not great. basically butter but you just do a lid so it's not too much. each person only gets a little bit. i said to mum there is the oh so slim chance i might come to caloudra with you. sharing with feebs sounds like too much fun. i would come for two weeks. your last week there and then one week in bris vegas with may be a trip to syd for a few days to see caro & co. leave me all your cell numbers so if i am feeling impulsive, i can call and tell you i'm coming.xxx ignore the strange name above. it's obviously me.

Sissy, we're all stoked you really might be coming!! We had such a lovely day. Perfect weather and so nice swimming this morning. Girls so happy and easy. Mum said she's already sent all our mobile numbers. Got 'em? Thanks for your fashion advice. I want to go shopping again so if you ARE coming, we'll go together, yeah? xx
